A Conversation with Ken MacKenzie: A New Challenge!

Posted on June 13th, 2012

Ken MacKenzie has won the Martin’s Home Heating Sportsman division championship for the last two years. He took us all by surprise winning the title in 2010, but no-one was shocked when he repeated the feat in 2011. But MacKenzie won’t win it again this season! Wade Wilson, Speedway 660’s announcer, talked with Kenny about his 2012 season.

Ken MacKenzie has become a real fan fave at Speedway 660. The 2010 and 2011 Martin’s Home Heating Sportsman champ has jumped into an A.L. Gullison Disaster Kleenup Pro Stock in 2012 and is having the time of his life! Read the rest of this article »

Four out of Five Ain’t Bad! – Wade’s Weekly #5

Posted on June 12th, 2012

Johnny Clark’s third straight PASS 200 win at Speedway 660 reminded me of that old MeatHead, I mean MeatLoaf song: “Two out of Three Ain’t Bad”. Only in Johnny’s case it’s four out of five.

Yup, Clark’s win on Sunday was the fourth in his last five trips to the Geary Woods. In 2010 Johnny won our PASS race and the Auto Value 250. In 2011 he won the PASS 200 again and finished a disappointing, for him at least, 9th in the Auto Value 250. And of course this past weekend Clark made it four out of five by taking his third straight PASS 200 at Speedway 660…and please excuse my English, but that ain’t bad!

Here’s Johnny! Johnny Clark wins his 3rd consecutive PASS 200 at Speedway 660 and 4th race in his last five appearances in the Geary Woods!

Fredericton, NB: Speedway 660 has become Johnny Clark’s home away from home. The Hallowell, Maine driver led the field to the checkered flag, winning his 3rd straight Pro All Star Series 200 in the Geary Woods. The 2010 and 2011 race winner dominated the second half of Sunday’s race to take the victory in car 54.

“I love this place and we took a big swing at the car at the mid-race break and the boys in the crew did an awesome job” said Clark. “We’ll definitely be back here for SpeedWeekend and try to become the first driver to win three Auto Value 250 races.”

Tucker and Duncan Set to Defend Home Turf!

Posted on June 7th, 2012

This weekends Pro All Stars Series 200 is shaping up to be an awesome event again in 2012. Several of the top Pro Stock drivers from New England are headed to Speedway 660 in an attempt to take the PASS 200 trophy and the cash back across the border!

A couple of familiar faces from the Geary oval are ready to make sure that doesn’t happen. Defending Auto Value 250 Champion Shawn Tucker has carried home some big trophies from Speedway 660 and is looking to take another one home this Saturday night in his AL Gullison Impala!  Tucker has had a couple of cracks at the PASS teams several years back but has been absent for the last two PASS 200 events.
