Irving Blending and Packaging 100 goes Saturday Night

The Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour makes its annual visit to Speedway 660 this weekend. The Maritime tour will run the Irving Blending and Packaging 100 at 7PM on Saturday night. At least two dozen tour drivers are expected to head to the Geary Woods for the race. Dave O’Blenis and a few other RE/MAX Group Four Realty Pro Stock drivers from Speedway 660 will also enter the race.

“We’re off to a good start to the season and this weekend’s race will be a great test to see how we stack up against the top Parts for Trucks tour teams” said O’Blenis, who is leading the Pro Stock points at Speedway 660. “We’ve been working closely with John Flemming this year and I think that will help both of our teams have good runs when the race goes green Saturday night.”

Dave O’Blenis, a three-time RE/MAX Group Four Realty Pro Stock champ at Speedway 660, is looking forward to Saturday’s Irving Blending and Packaging 100. O’Blenis believes the competition he faces this weekend from the Parts for Trucks Tour drivers will help his team prepare for the Best of the Best 150 and Auto Value 250.

Flemming, the Parts for Trucks point leader, has won two of the first four races on the tour this season. Shawn Turple, Greg Proude, Darren MacKinnon and Dylan Gosbee round out the top five in tour points. Fredericton’s Shawn Tucker is currently tenth, but the two time Auto Value 250 champ, won the tour race here last year and always runs strong at his home track.

“Shawn is a force at Speedway 660 and I know he will likely be running up front Saturday night, but there’s going to be a great car count and the competition is going to be some of the best we’ll see this season” said O’Blenis. “Irving Blending and Packaging is one of our primary sponsors and they are also sponsoring this race, so we want to have a good run for them, plus it’ll give us a chance to run a longer race in preparation for the Best of the Best 150 and Auto Value 250 later this summer.”

Fans will also see racing in the Martins Home Heating Sportsman and DMR Auto Sales & Service Street Stock Divisions. Heat races get underway at 7PM, but the Parts for Trucks Atlantic Tiltload Time Trials will go at 6:10PM.

John Flemming, winner of two Parts for Trucks Pro Stock races this season, is the tour points leader heading into the Irving Blending and Packaging 100 this Saturday night at Speedway 660. Flemming and his friend Dave O’Blenis have been working together this season, which should benefit both teams when the tour visits the Geary Woods.

Irving Blending and Packaging Pro Stock 100 ticket prices are $20 for Adults; $15 for  Youth (between 8 and 15 years of age); $65 for the Family Pass (two Adults and two Youths) and; admission is free for Speedway 660’s youngest race fans – seven and under.
