SpeedWeekend Purse Get Bigger!

Many of the top Sportsman and Pro Stock race teams in our region have already arrived at Speedway 660 for the biggest racing event of the season and more teams are on there way. The Irving Blending & Packaging 150 and the Auto Value 250 just got a little richer today thanks to Modern Electric!

“The Auto Value 250, presented by Jim Gilbert’s Wheels & Deals and RE/MAX Group Four Realty and the Irving Blending & Packaging 150 just got a shot in the arm from a local Fredericton company that continues to be a strong supporter of racing in our area” said Speedway 660’s Michelle Roy. “I want to thank Modern Electric for recognizing the magnitude of SpeedWeekend, seizing this excellent marketing opportunity and providing half way challenge prize money in both races.”

The Modern Electric Half-Way Challenge will pay the leader of lap 125 of the Auto Value 250 a $1500 bonus and the leader of lap 75 of the Irving Blending & Packaging 150 a $500 bonus. The Auto Value 250 is one of Canada’s richest Pro Stock races with prize money over $70,000. The Irving Blending & Packaging 150 pays the winner $5000 making it one of Atlantic Canada`s biggest Sportman paydays.

“It’s an honour for us to have this opportunity to market our local company alongside RE/MAX and Auto Value, two large international companies, in the biggest racing event of the year” said Modern Electric’s Darren Sutherland. “We love this sport and know that race fans are loyal supporters of the businesses that are associated with racing and think the Modern Electric Half-Way Challenges are a way for us to make these races just a little more exciting.”

The Irving Blending & Packaging 150 highlights racing action on Saturday at 7PM. The West Wood Estate Apartments Bandoleros, featuring girls and boys up 16 years old, will also race on Saturday night. Qualifying for the Auto Value 250, a presentation of Jim Gilbert’s Wheels & Deals and RE/MAX Group Four Realty, gets underway at 2PM on Sunday. Fans will also see the Fredericton Gun Shop Sharp Shooters and the DMR Auto Sales & Service Street Stocks on Sunday afternoon. Then, once the qualifying is complete, the Auto Value 250 takes the green flag at 7PM Sunday night. And on Monday at 2PM the ENDURO Championship 200 wraps up an action packed SpeedWeekend.
