Attn: Race Teams - Last year we tried a new approach to gathering input for rules updates vs the traditional rules meetings and we found it worked well. Over the past several years we have had rules meetings in other divisions but we have not had a very long list of items to discuss in any of the divisions. We received some feedback a couple of years ago around the usefulness of these meetings considering a lot of teams spend the better part of the day travelling to and from and attending the meetings.
This fall we are continuing with this new approach to updating our rules and getting input. We are hoping to get as much input if not more than we did last year as well as giving everyone back some family time and keeping people off the roads. We certainly would like to hear from you if you think there are rules we can change/update to make racing better and easier for everything to police and follow. We will accept input on these proposed rules/topics until January 17th, 2013.
After January 17th we will evaluate all the input received and update the 2013 rules. We are hoping to have these completed in DRAFT form for the 3rd of February. We will release a DRAFT set of 2013 rules for review (on our website). The rules will become final two weeks after the DRAFT are if no additional changes are required.
Dates to remember are:
January 17th, 2013 - Last day to send in your input on proposed rule updates/additions
February 3rd, 2013 – DRAFT rules released
February 17th, 2013 – DRAFT rules become FINAL.

The racing season is over, everyone has hauled their RV home, the padlocks are on the Speedway 660 gates and the Geary Woods sit silent until May of 2013. September is always a time to reflect on the season past and look ahead to the future.
“We saw great racing this year, some intense rivalries and the continued growth of a youth movement that bodes well for the future of this sport” said Speedway 660’s Chris Johnston. “We have a vibrant racing community, from the drivers and their teams to the fans and sponsors, who love the thrills, excitement and occasional controversy that comes with short-track racing.”

The 50/50 was not claimed Sunday night which is the first time in 17 years this has happened. With all the commotion we were not able able to draw another one as it was too late and a lot of fans left. The number was 794467 and it was a blue ticket. The ticket is worth $ 3100. If it is not claimed by the end of the week we will address it then. We will either add that money to the first 50/50 of the 2013 season or donate it to a charity on behalf on the fans and post the receipt and picture on the website. We we will make sure it gets claimed or it is dealt with appropriately.

It’s over - that’s right, SpeedWeekend and the 2012 season at Speedway 660 is history. Where did the season and summer get to?
Weather was a big story this year. Rain got us a couple or three times during the season and then on our biggest day of the year, SpeedWeekend Sunday, it got us again, at least for awhile.
The Auto Value 250 was a little late starting, but it was a great race once it went green. Joey Doiron in the 73 looked like he was going to run away with it in the early going, then the 97 took over and John Flemming appeared poised to win his first Auto Value 250. But Cassius Clark was not to be denied. After hanging around near the front for the first half of the race, Cassius in Rollie MacDonald’s machine, dominated the second half and landed in victory lane.

Sunday night’s Auto Value 250 was a spectacle on and off the race track. Wade Wilson attempts to interview race winner Cassius Clark with a barrage of fireworks making their way to the skyline.
