The Championship ENDURO 200 scheduled for this afternoon (Sunday, September 8th) has been postponed. The event has been rescheduled for next Sunday (September 15th) at 2PM. Originally scheduled for SpeedWeekend, the race was first postponed on Monday (September 2nd) because of rain. Hopefully we can get this race in next Sunday afternoon and crown the 2013 ENDURO Champion!
Speedway 660 holds it’s last event of the 2013 season this Sunday at 2PM. After getting rained-out on SpeedWeekend, the 2013 ENDURO 200 Championship race will be held on Sunday afternoon. It is guaranteed to be a wild and crazy way to end the racing season.
SpeedWeekend 2013 provided race fans with a lot of great racing action. The Irving Blending & Packaging 150 and Auto Value 250 were both awesome races. We had our first three-time winner of the 250 and the 150 winner came all the way from Cape Sable Island, Nova Scotia! Now is an excellent time to look back at some of the images from SpeedWeekend 2013.
Wow – what a SpeedWeekend! Colby Smith and Shawn Tucker were big winners, but the biggest winners were the fans who were treated to the best racing of the year! History was made in the Auto Value 250 and the Irving Blending & Packaging 150 was a real barn-burner.
Inclement weather forced Speedway 660 to postpone the ENDURO 200, which was scheduled for SpeedWeekend Monday. The Championship ENDURO 200 has been rescheduled for next Sunday at 2PM. Speedway 660 wants to thank all of the race teams, our marketing partners, employees and especially our great fans for a very successful SpeedWeekend 2013. Shawn Tucker dominated the 2013 Auto Value 250 on SpeedWeekend Sunday at Speedway 660. Tucker led 177 laps, including the Modern Electric Half Way Challenge Award, for the biggest pay day in his illustrious racing career. Tucker claimed over $25,000 of the more than $70,000 purse to become the first three-time Auto Value 250 winner.
It`s Sunday and SpeedWeekend resumes action early this afternoon. The Bandolero 25 lap Blast #2 will run at 1PM today. After a lengthy rain delay on Saturday night race officials decided to move the 2nd Bando Blast to this afternoon. At 2PM today qualifying begins for the Auto Value 250. SpeedWeekend fans will also see racing in the DMR Auto Sales & Service Street Stock and the Fredericton Gun Shop Sharp Shooter Divisions. The Auto Value 250 is scheduled for 7PM this evening. Congrats to Colby Smith for winning the Irving Blending & Packaging Sportsman 150 in front of a huge SpeedWeekend crowd. And hats off to race fans and all of the Sportsman teams for enduring that two hour rain delay on Saturday night! We`ll see everyone in the Geary Woods this afternoon!
Colby Smith, from Cape Sable Island, Nova Scotia won the $5000 first place prize money in the Irving Blending & Packaging 150 early Sunday morning at Speedway 660. After a two hour rain delay, Smith out-dueled Dave O’Blenis to win the biggest Sportsman race of the year.
SpeedWeekend 2013 is getting ready to roll out the best Sportsman teams in Atlantic Canada for their biggest race of the season. Tonight at 7PM, drivers will begin to qualify for the Irving Blending & Packaging 150 at Speedway 660. At the end of the night, one driver will end up in the Riverview Ford Lincoln Victory Lane and receive five thousand dollars in prize money! The leader of lap 75 will receive the Modern Electric Half-Way Challenge Award of $500. Speedway 660’s Martins Home Heating Sportsman division drivers will face some tough competition from visiting race teams. A few Pro Stock drivers, are also strapping into Sportsman cars tonight for a shot at the big purse. The West Wood Estate Bandolero drivers are also part of tonight’s SpeedWeekend show. They will take on a large contingent of visiting drivers in two 25 lap “Bando Blasts”. Bando heat races are scheduled for 6:20PM and qualifying for the Irving Blending & Packaging 150 begins at 7PM.
Many of the top Sportsman and Pro Stock race teams in our region have already arrived at Speedway 660 for the biggest racing event of the season and more teams are on there way. The Irving Blending & Packaging 150 and the Auto Value 250 just got a little richer today thanks to Modern Electric!
